General KYC photo rules
Most banks (HDFC, SBI, ICICI, Axis, Kotak) accept passport-size photos with a plain white or light background. JPEG preferred. File size typically under 100 KB.
Bank-specific rules
SBI accepts up to 100 KB JPEG. HDFC requires under 50 KB. ICICI allows JPEG or PNG up to 2 MB but recommends under 100 KB for faster processing.
Video KYC photos
For video KYC, a live photo is taken during the call. Ensure good lighting, no glasses, and a plain background behind you before the call.
Common rejections
Blurry photos, photos with glasses, photos in dark clothing with a dark background, and files above the limit are the most common rejection triggers.
